What is powder coating?
Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. Unlike conventional liquid paint which is delivered via an evaporating solvent, powder coating is typically applied electrostatically and then cured under heat or with ultraviolet light. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. Powder coating is mainly used for coating of metals, such as our lighting fixtures.
What is an ideal mounting height?
Although every application is unique, we typically suggest between 18” from the ceiling and 6’-6” from the floor.
What does the sawtooth diffuser accessory do for the wall sconce?
The Sawtooth Diffuser creates a small sawtooth shadow instead of a hot spot on the wall right above the fixture. Some prefer this, but it’s all a preference thing.
What is Color Temperature?
The color temperature (CCT) of a bulb tells you the warmth or coolness of white light. When it comes to color temperature, halogens are fixed at around 3000 degrees Kelvins, a warm yellowish tone similar to that of a 2700K incandescent bulb.
What is the Life Expectancy of Halogen vs LED light sources?
Typical light sources lamps have an estimated lifespan ranging from 750 to as long as 100,000 hours, depending on the type of lamp. In addition, the lamp type, the type of use, the brand, and other factors can also affect the lifespan of a lamp. Halogen bulbs just don’t have a very long lifespan. They last about 3,500 hours, which is equivalent to about 1 year. LED light sources have a life expectancy of up to 50,000 hours, which is equivalent to around 13.5 years with normal use.
